While rummaging around in my garage, i found the box for my old "Calling All Engines!" Thomas Airport set!

Pretty cool! I remember re-discovering my collection, and this was the only complete TOMY Thomas set i had at the time! heh heh.

I think this is a rare set, correct me if I’m wrong

RE: Nostalgia Unearthed - sunhuntin - 10-28-2017

yes, i think you are right about it being rare, specifically the plane. i believe this is the only set that appeared in. after that, it was jeremy.

very nice find, munch. knowing you are a kiwi, i wish i had bought this set back in the day.

Well Shoot. My plane is missing its tail, and its' yellower than James' face. My Take-Along Harold is also pretty thrashed.

Nice! That plane also threw me off!Big Grin

That plane is highly sought after. I wonder if Muddy has this set?

RE: Nostalgia Unearthed - Tharazero1 - 10-28-2017

RE: Nostalgia Unearthed - trevor369 - 10-28-2017

its a nice set.
it has several features that are appealing.
#1) it features jeremy as a bi-propeller plane.
the only version of jeremy that does this!
but it also features nice "accents"
#2) the bridge... not a easy bridge to find.
and #3) the "paint can" cargo.
always a neat addition. also not easy to find.
remember the paint splater thomas?
in layouts.. what better way to accent (a paint splatter thomas) unles you have the cargo to back it up.

in my line of work.. and i'm retired...
this ii what i-and many of us- would call a "home run"
#1) we, as it applies to this set,
have an anomaly. jeremy is known as the jet engine
jet engines don't have propellers.
#2) we have a bridge. it a scaled down version of the suspension bridge.
in addition it is in a different color.
then, if that wasn't enough, the paint can cargo. i nice bonus

RE: Nostalgia Unearthed - sunhuntin - 10-29-2017

the plane in this set is not jeremy. it has no face or given name. it is simply a regular plane. later releases of the airport were paired with jeremy.
