Mr No, it seems to me that you are a big fan of the All Engine Go series. Are the faces interchangeable or are the faces riveted to the shell?

The faces are fixed to the engines and, as far as I know, cannot be interchanged. But you can buy the same engine with a different facial expression, of course. I already have two Thomases, two Percys and two Diesels.

And yes, I do like the All Engines Go models. I'm a proud member of the AEG cult. Pray for me. Smile

Is the last picture of a sleepy face Diesel for a motorized or an image from the show?

It's the picture from the back side of the packaging. I really like that "sleepy" face; wish they put it on the model!

I kind of like the extra facial express from the box as they did with Diesel. I wonder if they are doing this as a preview of another release?

How is it that these engines look like fun in your videos but look rubbish in the shop? I visited Smyths today, my first time in a big toy store for several years, and couldn't bring myself to part with money for any of them. (I did buy the 4-pack of metallic engines though, which looked good in comparison). Maybe next time?

When I look at the upcoming releases of AEG engines and sets, I notice that the same engines have different faces from previous releases. Even Thomas' face in the "Small Friends" ("regular") edition is not quite the same as his face in the "Fix 'em up Friends set", for example, although they are very similar ... Diesel in the picture on the back of "Motorized" edition is most similar to Push Along Diesel:

That face is hilarious, I wish they make Motorized edition with that face! Big Grin

You see how inconvenient it is when you have a store that sells these trains, so you can see them live before you buy them! Wink

I don’t have any physical store within a 1000 km radius where I could see them live, so my first real encounter with them is when I open a package from Germany or the UK. Big Grin

But, joke aside, it seems to me that these models are really very beautiful also live, not just on video. They are full of details, the paint job is great (TM2 was like they came out of an ink jet printer), the windows are modeled, not just drawn etc. etc. In any case, when you pick up the AEG model and the TM2 model, the AEG is noticeably better, firmer, bigger and more beautifully painted. Or at least that's my impression ... Also, packaging is rubbish, especially for the single engines (plus truck) ; the engines look better when they are out of their "boxes". Why don't they make normal boxes, where you can nicely keep the engines?

Bought metallic engines 4-pack at Smith's? This one?
