Actually, Gordon should look older than the other engines in the show, because the producers imagined that in the AEG version he would be a kind of "father figure". James doesn't look that old to me, but it doesn't matter.

Is 50 old? It depends on how you take it. How does 50 look like? When you're 53 like me (I just took this photo: I'm the one in the middle), it doesn't seem to you that it's that old, except when something starts to hurt you inexplicably or when you forget something or when you gain weight just by looking at a slice of chocolate cake.
Anyway, AEG Gordon and James look great, they are great runners, and I'm just happy to have them ... even if they are "old"!

Well now that i think... 50 is not old... i don't know which is 'old' and which is 'young' i know young, but old... i don't know anymore. though i like gordon, and my brother's favorite train is gordon, (mainly because he is the fastest train i have exept for the japanese trains) i found old style gordon weird looking if i look from the top, because the eyes are... a little too much forward (my opinion)
