So, I completely forgot that Bachmann were releasing Thomas in N Scale (eventually, due to the virus). With how good Thomas looks, and the fact that he's made to British N Scale (Unlike Tomix), I'm not sure that I can ignore the line.

Part One: The Station Building

As the title says, I intend to do a mock-up of Dryaw Station (and the surrounding Airfield buildings) to see how much space that takes up, because some of those buildings would be really big in OO scale. The only things I didn't model on the station itself were the advertisement boards, the canopy (only omitted because I can't tell if it's clear or not), chimney pots, and platform. Here are some pictures.

Although it is to scale (except the arch windows; they were hard to cut), it's a little rough, which is fine, since it's not really supposed to be super detailed for it's current purposes.

I know some of you will probably be wondering if I'll finish my "Backdating Thomas" project. Although it's not dead, I felt like I needed to take a break from it, since too many ideas for it were floating around my head, and I kept making silly mistakes.

This new project should be fine, though, since I feel like buildings are easier to do. I hope you enjoy it! Updates will come as and when I have time to build the other buildings.

You are doing great on the station building T-Man.

Thanks! I think that's the Hornby version.

Today I started on the Air Traffic Control Tower, although I haven't cut anything yet. It's kind of an interesting building, because it's simple enough that I could just put the bordered detailing on it and paint it, but it's still got that complex control box on top, which I haven't started yet because I'm not quite sure how to do angled stuff like that. Here's a pic of the side with the stairs:

And here are a couple of pictures of what I've done so far. I'm not quite sure that I positioned the window that's circled in red right or not.

Also, temptation for Bachmann's N Scale line keeps getting worse (They look too good)!

Well, maybe it's just N Scale in general, not helped by the new Thomas line. I have an N Scale locomotive on order from the UK now. Big Grin

Super, I'm surprised you didn't say anything about the last bit!

RE: N Scale Dryaw Mock-Up Project - Super - 07-27-2020

Is it a Thomas Locomotive?

RE: N Scale Dryaw Mock-Up Project - TrainMan2001 - 07-27-2020

No, it's a different one. Smile

Hmmm...so it must be a secret. Let us in on the surprise when the engine arrives Smile
