I Like to Ride the Bekonscot Railway

So another old thread I'm digging up! So today my son was invited to a birthday party at 'Sheffield and district model engineers society' http://www.sheffieldmodelengineers.com. The sun was shining, the grass was warm (& mostly dry) and steam engines were steaming!!! A great sort of place, I thought I'd take some photos and show you all, firstly I'll tell you about the place, it's set in a little woodland area with a stream running by, there are x2 tracks, a raised oval and a lower oval (with x2/3 sets of tracks with crossovers) this meant that there were usually x3 trains running on the lower oval at anyone time, all obeying signals, the upper track had x2 trains that basically followed each other 1/2 a track apart. So they were quite quick in getting people on, even though the ques looked big.

There was also a small indoor pavilion with some displays,









They also had a small gauge set out side too,









I'd say it's defiantly worth a visit if your up this way, the kids had a great time despite the crowds!
