Toys 'R' Us Bankruptcy & Store Closings

Frankly, in this day and age of competition from the Online stores, I can't understand why anyone would pay for something like this and especially not for this amount of money unless the purchaser is looking to run it to the ground for a Tax loss. At one time there may have been a benefit for buying a brick and mortar company but I am not so sure about the investment in todays world. Now I might understand it more if a company had a brand that it manufactured but this brand is the name only right? They would have no stock and I would guess that most of the brick and mortar stores are not owned but leased so what are they paying for...just the name...letters essentially that have no product? I don't get it unless the rich need a write off. Dodgy
