tomix track plan

45 Replies, 55011 Views

ive been thinking about this layout for about a year now, give or take, and have just bought the most expensive pieces last night: two 3-way points.

thanks to a member of another site that specialises in japanese n scale, i have the width of the thomas station and can now buy the correct 2-way points.

this is the track plan, built using "anyrail" free download.

Looking good Sunhuntin. Is that "Anyrail" a software program?

thanks, super. cassinos thread actually got me googling cos i want to get this layout built, im sick of not having it, haha.
yes it is. free to download and you can pick a range of gauges and brands. obviously, mine is built in tomix fine track, but you can also pick kato, bachmann etc. you can go from g scale right down to t.

Thanks Sunhuntin

That software much be pretty popular around the world as it is available in many languages.

I actually emailed them and another software maker to ask if they could produce a blue track library. Anyrail never got back to me, but the other guys did and although they have no plans to do it they did give me a link to a 'how to' guide so I can try to do it myself. As its looking like I'll have a couple of weeks off over Christmas it seems I've just got myself a little task, I'll let you know how it goes Smile

went ahead and bought the two 2-way points, along with the large curve. managed to get all of them brand new from the same seller, which should cut costs a little. he also has the short straights i need, but only one pair, when i need 3 pairs.
after winning henry last night and then putting the track together on the baseboard this morning, im getting quite excited to get this built and make a start on decorations.

Very nice Sunhuntin, is there a special switch control that either operates them individually or a switch control that operate many?
i think you could buy a switch to do the whole lot, but not 100% sure on that. ive researched only so far to find out what i need to buy to create the layout. i dont even know how im going to hook up the controller yet lol. i have one, but none of the track has a place to fit wires to, so likely have to solder them on somehow?? will ask the guys at the club about it.

these wont be hooked up to power. the wiring i will thread through small holes and secure underneath with a staple gun or similar. dont want to cut it off just in case i ever sell it and the new owner wants to power it up.
