Is it Worth this Much?

Is this NITB Brio Monorail set that rare or hard to find to demand such a high price?

It looks very similar to Leokimvideo's latest review subject (!) It's not a monorail and not advertised as such. As for its rarity, it looks to be one of those new sets from the current (?) Brio range. Perhaps that seller is a scammer.

You are right. I thought this might have been a vintage, new, old stock item but I see they still list it on Brio's web site. Didn't know it is also motorized. Don't know if the seller is that far off with looking at the wide range of prices at Amazon. https://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_noss?...tching+set

Perhaps it's rare in Japan?
I've seen Trackmaster Revolution engines go for hundreds a piece from Japanese sellers on eBay and Amazon. Looking at these listings, I always see something along the lines of "not available in Japan" or "ultra rare in Japan," so it's clear to me that they're looking to sell to someone living in Japan.

Have to agree with Dala, how can they describe this as a monorail when it runs on a road/rails?

I didn't see the term "monorail" used at the official Brio site. Maybe because the units itself look more like monorail cars.

They (not Brio) probably don't know the actual meaning. Either way, that is very odd.

The cars have a monorail look to them despite the actual whole brio system using 2 rails.
