Original vs New Odakyu Romance Car 50000

The results are in for the comparison of the original vs the new release of the Odakyu Romance Car 50000 and the winner is..........???

The pictures show the pluses circled in red of each release. Both versions use exactly the same mold but all the windows in the new release are molded as part of the shells and are painted black. All the windows and the roof sky lights (coach) are separate clear, green tinted plastic.

In picture #2 we can see the pluses of the original are the see through windows but because of that you can see the motor inside through the side windows which the new release you don't see. A big plus for the new release is the no longer needed large side clips for removing the shell to install a battery. Both trains use a AA battery are 2 speeds but the edge goes to the new release with its updated chassis.

Picture #3 You don't see the battery terminals through the front windscreen in the new version.

Picture #4 You can see that the original version coach is much more detailed with it silver pantographs clear windows and the roof skylights that do let ambient light in.

My final results.....because these are from identical molds the winner by far is.....the ORIGINAL Version with more details and the clear green tinted windows. The new release would have got the nod if they had just duplicated the original release exactly and just updated it to the new chassis & motor. What do you think?
