Train for Polishing Rails (Video)

2 Replies, 5069 Views

Never heard of a Train for polishing rails. The water spray must be to help prevent track side fires where the sparks ignite the vegetation with the 2 fellows at the very end manning the water guns as the last line of defense. I like the the shots of the train working at dusk.

When my son was a new baby, he was very colicky and didn't sleep well. I took the night shift with him and soon discovered that railroad videos would calm him. Even as a very little guy, the Loram Rail Grinder was a favorite of his and he loves work trains of various sorts to this day!

His grandfather works for BNSF (until he retires next month) and he thinks it's cool that "Papaw" has seen the Rail Grinder in person. Hopefully, he'll get to see it in real life himself one day. Big Grin

Thats a great coincidental story OTF.
Wow, I had no idea. With your info this was brought to my eyes... I thought these grinders where a European or Asian thing and that is why I had not heard of them. Turns out the Loram Rail Grinders are made right here in the USA and, in addition to them being used here in the States, they are sold all over the World. Hmmm, wonder how mush it costs to mail one of these overseas Smile
