@Vio

What does your research team of phantom gems think about and know about those clear, Dual, C-62's of Muddy's?

Good question. We had a debate on this before.

Due to the fact that we knew it came in a white box and it has new power, we are arguing whether to actually list this as a honourable phantom gem. It is definitely a top class rarity along with the blue Amtrak among new power Plarails, but we cannot list it as a true phantom gem mainly because it is new power and it is released somewhere around 2004. There are gold bling new power Plarail that are listed as a true phantom gem in the Biglobe musuem, but we as a team disagree with it.

Our true meaning of a Phantom Gem:
- Before red TOMY mark (new power era), that is before 1987.
- Made in Japan Plarail.
- Made in Japan exports to other countries are counted too. (For example: Playrail D-51 Chug-a-log Log Loader Set and Straco My First Train Set)
- Top class rarities of the 3 categories, taking into account of real value today, frequency of appearing, total time of active manufacture period.

Thanks for the clarification on what the team is doing as far as a definition of Phantom Gem. I had thought that it meant anything that was older, and not heard of much like Muddys Gold Thomas. Was for the most part a myth, even to Muddy, until he was able to grab it up.

It seems that only 100 gold Thomas is available in the world right? We haven't classify Thomas and his friends into rarity groups yet because we don't specialise in Thomas.
Oh man, I really like that set from 2004 with C62-3 and D51-498! That brown viaduct in the 1970s set is very cool too!

Hi OTR [Image: salute-smiley-emoticon.gif]

Yest that is a lovely bridge, too bad that its not an exact match for modern rails as its it tad too short to use with the newer yellow risers. One would have to use the original yellow risers that snap on the tracks for the proper height. Common with trying to blend old with the new. This was even true with the motorized road pieces which I never knew until I acquired the very rare sloped road rails that need no risers.

BTW, Nigels has successfully 3D printed these old viaduct bridges in the proper height and so they don't need any risers on either side.

The brown viaduct and green piers is exclusively in the C-62 Set. It is seen regularly in Plarail Expo, not many people know the rarity of these if you ask me.

I thought there was another set that had 2 of these brown bridges in it. There is also this same bride in white and a cream color if I am not mistaken.
