Leyland Victory 2 collection

One of my nephew's birthday is coming up, it gave me an excuse to shop at Toy R Us today.

All Trackmaster products are on sale this week.  So I went to see what they have to offer.  I am surprise they still have one Runaway Stephen set left.  So I snatched since I like coaches.  Stephen's coach is a bit unique.  There is a button on the top where you can add or remove passengers from the windows.  See photos below.

so I uploaded the pdf file (containing troublesome truck faces) in the ThomasTankCollectables facebook group.  If you don`t have a facebook account or don't have access to that group, pm here with your email address.

I was able to get some more McDonald Plarail trains on ebay. Based on the marking on the chassis, they were made sometime betwen 2012 -2014. There are so many variations even with one model. It appears Dr. Yellow is the most popular one among the them. I believe there are at least 3 different variations of Dr. Yellow. In case anybody wants to know the differences between a regular Plarail and a McDonald Plarail see photos below.

McDonald's version is a bit shorter. Maybe a bit higher. I don't think it will have problems clearing tomy tunnels

I am stump with this one.

What is the purpose of the gear at the bottom?

And this one.

It can't be pull back motor as there are some already that features pull back motor and they don't like this .

If you are still interested in checking out more McDonald Plarail engines, I upload my entire collection.

There is at least one more engine out there.

Thats odd. Hmmm, wonder if there isn't some kind of information about the gear somewhere on the Internet as you would think you aren't the only person to ask this question. Maybe in Japanese?

I tried to find a list of all the McDonald Plarail trains ever made. Sadly there is no list out there.

Edit: Did some searching on youtube.  I found the answer to my question

at 4:04 there is a strip of paper you can pull out and retract.

Apparently they made more Plarail trains in 2017 and 2018.  They features front end couplings.  Very nice.

The only thing I don't like about them are applying the decals yourself.  It is hard to make it perfect.
