I just made my first purchase off of Amazon Japan which is exciting because the prices on Plarail items on ebay recently went up to the $25-35 range for a normal engine with 1 or 2 rolling stock.

Three customs and one as is model. Who else here has purchased off of Amazon Japan?

They're cheaper than ebay. Also most items get shipped through the Amazon Global Shipping Program which when you're in the US, the items will get to you around a week.

I'm seeing the same as you Trainboy. eBay prices in AU are also sky high. Seems mostly from Japanese sellers asking many hundreds of dollars for basic sets.

I also get annoyed when I see 'very rare' used on items that we know are not really that rare. 'Very rare' probably doesn't even end up on eBay at all. I feel like on eBay there are a lot of sellers trying to be tricky and hoping to sucker buyers into paying more than something is worth.

I wonder if anyone actually pays these ridiculous prices?

I'll just as well as stick to Amazon Japan and the Japan Auctions for Plarails for now on, better costs. I don't order from the auctions that often though, once in a while if I need parts for locos.

Sorry to bump this thread after 2 years, I forgot about this fo0r a while. I manage to buy some decent amount of purchases. They haven't arrived yet.



Some 8T Motor Gears (Bought 6 sets of 10 each for replacment motor gears incase I end up with noisy Tomy/Trackmaster models again)


A rather dodgy looking Duncan knockoff (I yet bought another for a custom)


A rather dodgy looking Percy knockoff, the face looks badly painted (2 of them I will be using as donor chassis for two 3D printed customs and the other I'll leave as is).


An intresting Charlie knockoff (Yes, I got another Charlie for another custom)


An intresting Peter Sam knockoff (I bought another Peter Sam....again, for a custom)


That new Whiff knockoff that came out (I bought 2 of this one. One will be a custom). I'm gonna buy the new Stanley knockoff soon, hopefully next month or in October.
