bought this gem last week, ironically the night we arrived home from melbourne. at $100NZD, i couldnt resist. it arrived this morning in great shape, though the small engine needs some lube as its very rattly. they wont be used much, and most likely just displayed in the box at shows.

Nice find. I noticed you have possibly an english TnA Percy, I've been looking for him Wink

That is a beautiful set and the 2 trains are great replicas of the originals. Its a coincidence that I just received half of this set, the black one with the Tanker and Wagon. The original fictitious Black Steamer was released in 1961 and this 40th Anniversary set was released in 1999, at least that is the info I can come up with. If I am wrong I hope someone will set me straight. I think the box is very special and love the chronological pictorial of the original trains on the inside of the flap.

Great addition to your collection Sun.

Lovely set Sun and a good illustration of the way Tomy has kept the models compatible over the period such that the earliest/latest will run on any track produced and mix/match with any other model they've produced in the PlaRail range Big Grin
