A friend in Taiwan spotted this set that I wasn't aware of. It's a THSR version of the Dr. Yellow Super Speed set.

Note the jump in price between the two. Not sure why that is.

Oh, Wow, The Plarail Taiwan THSR train is very much sought after as it originally was only released in Taiwan I believe. By the looks of the placement of the on/off switch this one has the new Plarail motor/chassis. Now the only question is is how does it work and is the train a normal one or have some automatic ability as I see the activation tracks on the box with the Dr Yellow. Thanks for sharing T-Fanz.

if they were sold in Taiwan, how come the words are written in Japanese instead of Chinese words?

The original release.

It seems to be the same set only with the trains swapped out, Super. It should be able to use the activation tracks for speeding up and slowing down.

Then is that console station just a place to switch tracks with the lever

That's pretty much it. 'Fast' sends it onto the activation track for speeding up in the intended layout and vice versa.

Now I see, the inner and outer Loop each has an activation track, one slow, one fast.
