Train Jigsaws
#1
HI All
I had thought about posting this earlier, but wasn't sure I really wanted too.
But Super asked a question about my last post where I had a Train jigsaw in the back ground.
So here is the 6 Train Jigsaws I have done this winter (Southern Hemisphere).
I love the painting versions of Jigsaws and when I saw a whole lot of these come up a while back I jumped at them.

I have not done any of that YET, but I am thinking about it, maybe even framing them one day.
They are beautiful pictures

Nice, A0F! My folks have a few in their puzzle stash, too. There is one that has the kingston flyer, too.

Beautiful graphics AOF. Now that summer is on its way for NZ, what are you going to do now?

Those look really fun! Thanks for sharing.

I've been in the garage a lot the last couple weekends playing with power tools while finishing up my workbench, so when I saw the subject line I assumed this thread would be about taking trains apart not putting them together.

Your post prompted me to do a little research!  (I never can resist).

This puzzle features a painting by renowned railway artist Barry Freeman. It shows double-heading Great Western Railway locomotives passing a lock on the Kennet & Avon Canal. The leading locomotive is 'Saint' class 4-6-0, No.2982 Lalla Rookh, with 'Castle' class 4-6-0 No.4093 Dunster Castle, behind.

The painting also appears on the cover of the book "THE RAILWAY PAINTINGS OF BARRY J. FREEMAN".

'Country Connection' by Don Breckon, featuring GWR 4575 'Small Prarie' class 2-6-2T No. 5572. Remarkably, this loco is one of eleven survivors of this class, presently on static display at Didcot Railway Centre.

Do we want more?

You can do this one online, though in simplified form.

The picture is by John Austin, an Honorary President of The Guild of Railway Artists, and shows two trains at Highley Station on the Severn Valley Railway with a third, possibly an 0-6-0T, in the background.  On the left is LMS Ivatt Class 2 'Mickey Mouse' No.46443, heading a short freight train; alongside is BR 'Standard' class 4MT No.75069, with 'blood and custard' passenger stock.

Wow, how old is that station?

The station was opened on the 1st of February 1862, the same day that Battle Hymn of the Republic was published for the first time.

Wow, amazing that buildings that old can still stand and be used. Wouldn't a replica model in Plarail scale be cool. Thanks Dr Chris
