It looks familiar but I might be confusing it with something else. Can't tell much from the small Thumbnail images...is it branded Tomy or Plarail? Can you read what its called? Have any luck searching for a video as it would be interesting to see it in action. Looking i the box there must be 2 different loads, balls and logs, and 2 different transport cars. It also looks like the train shuts off automatically when it reaches the top to dump its load but how does it return...manually? There also must be a center gear under the engine to engage ii that turntable. Interesting vintage looking set.

Found it here (no idea why it thinks I'm in Norway!)

and here (in fact Google 'Tren Minero Geyper' and you'll find a bunch of them)

Oh, now I see, thats not the on/off switch, its forward/reverse. The video looks cool, completely automatic except for pushing the 2 buttons.

Thanks Dr Chris for the information and the video.

yes super. very automatic. I can't wait to fold it into a layout.
I might have to swap out the engine for a little boost Rolleyes

I'm guessing this set is mid to late 1970's.
from my research it was a small line in plarail. only 2 sets were made. this 1 being the debut

you know you might have a point. the box doesn't say tomy? and neither do the instructions.
however, this is the second set.
