TOMY Bit-CharG Car Problem

6 Replies, 4321 Views

My dad recently ordered 2 TOMY Bit-CharG cars, the one that has arrived has a broken wire, which I've circled with purple. The problem with it is that the wire really thin and small so, I'm not sure if a soldering iron would work as it would "melt the filament." Does anybody know how to fix this?

Can't you just return it?

I'm not entirely sure if it can be returned, I think he bought it off of DeJapan or some other proxy bidder, and I'm not sure about the policies. I'm pretty sure he wants to try and fix it though.

I see.

I think there are some low heat battery powered soldering pens which may be worth looking into. I also believe there are low temperature solders just for small things like this.

You are not going to melt the wire core at normal soldering temperatures.

Hope you can fix it as it looks like these things aren't very cheap.
