what is this packaging?

So there are 2 types of HiT packaging that i have seen. But i see this sort time to time as well. does anyone know what this is or is it just another version of blister packaging?

That is a beautiful Skarloey for sure. I didn't know he came with a light blue coach like that but thats no surprise since I know very little about the series. Is this yours Tons?

I don't think I have ever heard of the term "Big Friends" before

Direct from the Thomas Motorized Wiki, HiT Toy Company page:

"In the US, the engines and road vehicles were first released with half straight track or road pieces. ...... The engines had a light blue packaging with the character's name in a yellow rectangle, and a red strip with the logo in the corner. Two different styles of this packaging were made, one which is in a box with a hole on the side showing the engine's face, and another where both sides can be seen through a large amount of plastic. Tender engines or small engines with a car are known as "Big Friends", and small engines by themselves are known as "Little Friends".
