The bulgy is a very VERY interesting scenario.
If the varient truly was released in 1998 , then this would be hiding something HUGE. "Bulgy rides again" (episode where bulgy was turned into a veg stand) was released in 2003.

Could this mean Bulgy Rides Again was meant to be released a lot earlier (probably season 5) but was delayed?
Train it, plane it, you name it!

I’d think the set would be pretty high up, as there’s only one image of it anywhere

Yes that Figure 8 set is VERY rare, and along with a few others should probably be inserted somewhere between the 15-30 slots..
1. James Figure 8 set
2. Toby at the Coppermine set
3. James Works it out set
4. James at Boulder Mountain set
5. PLARAIL Big Slash Victor Blue Mountain Mystery set w/Kevin & red breakdown crane

Our lists are a good start TRa…lots to think about and reconsider.
I’d like to go down the list and discuss/debate/scrutinize each of them and their rankings individually.
For instance:
I cannot decide on Alfie or Monty and called it a tie or coin flip.
ALFIE was basically only sold in North America, and it’s production was limited due to its design flaw, so it never had a mass production/distribution run.
There are less, but the limited numbers that were made are far easier find, and to have shipped to someone living in North America than they are in Europe or Asia.
MONTY was buried in Poland and eastern block countries, and is literally and geographically as far away from North America as could possibly be.
It is impossible to have anything shipped from that region, but Monty CAN be found on Polish sites and for only a few dollars.
Also, Monty most likely received a full standard production run, so there will always be far more Monty’s on this earth than Alfie’s, but they are on the other side of the planet.
I guess some of it has to do with where you live as to what is rarest?
Which would make any item produced exclusively to its own country, most rare to every other country.
Like the Toby at the Coppermine set is to the US, so each individual countries own language international talking engines are to them, Oliver is to England, and Plarail is to Japan.

I have a fantastic idea! We all ought to get together on some sort of call or live chat where we can take all the rare tomy/plarail/trackmaster items, debate them, then order them based on rarity, and there could be two seperate categories, rarest plarail/tomys and rarest hit toys/trackmaster lists. of course with many of us living in different time zones and regions around the world it would be difficult to organize, but it could be done. I have a few ideas about placement of items myself.
If it ain't motorized I don't want it!       Cool Big Grin
