Can't wait Smile

The wait is over, here's the bundle of Hornby 'Skalesdale' 00 gauge model buildings that I won as an auction lot (just over £30 for the lot, which anyone will tell you is a stunning bargain!)

I love them. My favorites are the Model Shop, Church Gate, Garage, and that factory building with the huge air duct. I find that even though the HO gauge is an actual size for the Plarails as far as people go, I find a lot of the buildings small for a Plarail Layout if Plarail buildings are used, Are the OO buildings the same size as HO?

OO gauge is actually marginally bigger than HO, but not by much, put them side by side and its sometimes difficult to tell unless its a model of the same subject that is.  These would work well with PlaRail IMHO though, especially the larger factory type model, that was big enough to cover the keyboard on my 13.5" laptop easily so it gives you an idea of scale.  I like some of the lineside buildings such as the coal store, the cargo platforms etc...  I can see those being particularly useful.  I have to say the model shop is probably my favourite though, the detail is stunning.  The other nice thing about these are they are all heavy resin casts and come pre-painted to a very high standard as can be seen by the weathering on some of the models for example.  I do already have a bunch of these as I did start buying them when they were first released, but the rate of release was pretty high so it was difficult to keep up and then when my father passed for a while I lost interest in the hobby so stopped collecting anything for a year or two.  So I've missed so many that virtually anything on sale now is new to me Smile

Who knows if they were to release them maybe, although I've never been a stones fan personally, prefer the beatles far easier to sing along in the car with lol!

I'm hoping maybe they will release some other wagons to go with these featuring other albums if these are successful.  The thought of a nice long rake of these sort of wagons is quite appealing.  Although I have to say the price of wagons/carriages seem to have gone through the roof since the last time I was purchasing new Hornby product, albeit it is probably a gap of 10+ years now...

They definitely hit the right note with me that's for sure.  Just as did the Beatles 'Yellow Submarine' wrapped Eurostar, I just wish I'd known it was out there as I may well have found some way to get a ride on it if I'd known about it while it was running Smile
