Overly Quiet TnA Percy Speaker

4 Replies, 2303 Views

After trying to fix my Japanese Percy, and succeeding, when attempting to put it back together, the speaker just stopped being loud and became more and more quiet, I've no idea what's gone wrong with it, or how it's happened, I could have just damaged the wires or it burnt out, are there any other possibilities? bad batteries have been ruled out. Any help would be greatly appreciated so I can investigate what has happened to it

I can't help with that but while you are waiting to see if any other members can you could browse  a BPT Member, 'Powerful Gordon Mikes'  You Tube Channel as he is a TNA Guru. https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCrsJSHJ...1VA/videos

I also wonder if member 'Ripley802' may have an idea.

Keep in mind this stuff is not as fresh in my mind as it once was several years ago, but here is my initial thought. The speakers and wires are pretty fragile in these units, so it is possible there was some damage there. If the little paper cone on the speaker was punctured, that could have done it. Another thing, depending on if you had to solder any wires, was overheating and damage to one of the circuit board components. These things are notoriously finicky, but can be rewarding when you are able repair them.

@ripley good thoughts, I'll have to check it over, any particular signs that mean that it's burnt? Just so I can be sure
