Can anyone help me with this "Thomas at the Timber Yard" fault

I haven't sorted mine out. I got another one to see what went wrong but haven't got around to it. I moved house recently so got more space. Will be looking at it once i sort all house stuff out first. Will update if I ever find fix for it.

Spent the last 2 days completely taking my turntable apart, cleaning the cogs, making sure there were no hairline cracks, trying various cog starting positions, the whole 9 yards. And... Nothing. I'm so burnt out on this. I can't find a single fault and yet it makes no sense as to why it wont turn back once spring loaded. It's clear the cogs spring back when I wind up the cogs without the turntable, so I can't figure out what's stopping me...
