Kato 50th Anniversary C50 Loco

I just got this, couldn't resist such a special model as this.  All Kato models are stunningly detailed, but this one takes it to an even greater level.

Being a model to celebrate Kato's 50th anniversary of making N gauge models this is packaged lovely as well.  It comes in a special presentation box with a book (unfortunately for me in Japanese, but beautifully illustrated) and it seems there is a disc in the back of the book, not sure what it is yet, but I'll be trying it on my PC very soon.  I'll also post some pics of the loco on some track when I get a chance Smile

Must be expensive :')    I'm sticking to plarail, but still have interest in kato n sclae.
mostly Plarail items
It was a bit more than I would have liked to pay, but it is such a special model and possibly one of the most detailed 'N' gauge I've seen to date I had to get it.  The price was $170 from Amazon.com (which once shipping and VAT were added pushed the price up a bit as well).  But this is in comparison to the UK price which I've seen goes at around £250!!!  So depending upon your view it is either very expensive or a bargain lol!

PlaRail is great, have you ever looked at the now defunct PlaRail Advance?  You can still pick up models on the 2nd hand market, although the prices are beginning to rise quite dramatically for certain components.  But the big advantage is that you can run PlaRail Advance on the standard PlaRail blue tracks, so if you got a layout the only outlay is for the rolling stock to get into it.

Oh yes for sure, including the tender it is less than 6" in length, but what a beautiful model I'm looking forward to its first test run Smile

Yes,  i've heard about plarail advance, but in my country, even only the switch for it costs about $100/£50. Also, there are not much plarail advance items in my country, even the 2ndhand ones. Even tho i'm near the country producer of these things.
