Motorized Vehicle Display Cases

Thanks Nigel...Funny you should mention this as look what just arrived. Its actually a perfect size and fit for two. I am going to try to find a way to raise the back level though as there is just enough height to get the vehicle up and over the front level so the rear can be seen perfectly. I do wish they would make this exact one in a three tiered thats the exact same size width wise but just a bit deeper and a bit taller. Still looking for something like that.

Super, have you considered these type of cases? They are intended for Lego models/figures, but they do have 3 tiers as standard and of course being Lego you can make the rear platforms higher/wider/deeper to suit using Lego bricks if you want. If you go to a Lego store you can usually pick up the flat tiles as well (i.e. no pins on top) so you can end up with 3 tiers with smooth surfaces in whatever colour you want if you're lucky Smile

Here's a link to one on Amazon UK; https://www.amazon.co.uk/XIN%C2%B7SHI-Mi...WNrPXRydWU=

Thanks Nigel
Yes, I looked at those extensively as there are a lot of Listings for them. What dissuaded me from them is that the clear acrylic top is not one piece but four pieces which for one doesn't look as good and probably wouldn't keep all the dust out and/or fall apart. If it was a one piece top I would have liked to see on up close for sure.

Hi Super,

That is true, at least for the one I posted a link to, but I'm sure I've seen some with solid tops. I'll have another look tomorrow and if I find any I'll let you know Smile

Cheers, Nigel

Hi Super,

Found these on Amazon UK, they all appear to have solid tops (i.e. not self-assembly covers).

This one does not have one piece clear panels, but is a nice vertical shelf design at a reasonable price;

And finally a rather more upmarket proposition;

Many thanks Nigel 😃

There a couple there worth thinking about for sure. If not for these vehicles but for any other display items.
I was also looking at the one 3 tiered one pictured below which may be perfect but with shipping I am not sure I want to pull the trigger on $30 yet. I have discussed (with myself) another way of displaying these but will take a modification to the wall where the trains are displayed in the Layout Room.

Also, just arrived, the single wide one I mentioned earlier which looks to be perfect for displaying one Tractor Trailer ...

Looking good mate, although I just stumbled across what may be the perfect display cases for your Tomica cars, believe it or not made by Tomy themselves Smile

The only big downside is the cost, but they look incredibly cool;

I agree, those are incredibly cool and awesome Nigels. I don't think they are relatively a newer product as for some reason I remember looking at them when I first saw them. I may have been somewhat turned off by them when seeing the background is a smartphone as I am the last person on earth who never had or wish to have one. 😎 But they are still cool displaying without the phone background as I suppose using a Printer and photo paper could produce ones own background. I would consider trying one of these with the motorized vehicles but the listed height may not be tall enough.

Update:

Here is what I have come up with for displays. First...the Train shelves were raised up because when they were originally installed my Grandson was quite small and I wanted to keep them low so he could reach the trains. The smaller shelves with clear dust free acrylic fronts I have had for quite some time. All the vehicles on the right side is our collection of motorized vehicles. The left side holds some of our favorite Hotwheel, Matchbox, Tomica non-motorized vehicles.

Both the train shelves and the Diecast car displays were made by the same fellow in Wisconsin, USA. I wanted to purchase two more so I could display more of the Diecast vehicles but he no longer makes them or has a website. I am still trying to track him down to find out if he has some additional stock I could buy. My fingers are crossed hoping he does and since he made them in a shop at his home, maybe I could offer him something to make me a couple.  I do have an idea of how to modify the train displays with a sliding piece of clear acrylic panel to hold out the dust. I have the correct size aluminum U channel for the slider tracks but I am trying to figure out how to attach it. Anyone have an idea of how to attach or know of a glue that is great for attaching aluminum to wood? I still have to find a source of the clear acrylic somewhere near me. I am sure it won't be cheap.

Gorilla for me every time.

That link might not work for you though. There ought to be an equivalent page on their US website: https://www.gorillatough.com/
