Just received my notice that the

Loves Fun Train Series Izu Craile (3-Car Set)

Was ready to purchase. I wish I would have waited though for eBay as the total was a little cheaper for a few listings I have seen there. Oh well, still excited to see how it looks.

Congratulations

I don't see the cheaper ones like you say.

Darn it...three of the four new ones have just released except for mine and I still don't know what it looks like.

This seller has it along with a few other new ones, but not the one you are after..Undecided. Even has the new track accessory. This seller is one I have purchased several items from before and other than being a bit slow with shipping have never had any issues.

Oh, I have bought tons of stuff from Tokyo-Hobby. Great shippers and packaging. But the one Listed at Hobby Search with rate of exchange is $16 so unless you chose EMS shipping which Tokyo Hobby doesn't use in their listings then wouldn't it be cheaper a little. By the way I have had great service with them and have even contacted them and asked for combined shipping shipping using EMS sometimes and they have accommodated me.

You must get the "Super" discount...Big Grin

Mine was 1700¥ and then SAL, yes SAL shipping was 2700¥. The total was 4343¥ Or around $38 ($10 more than the one on eBay)

I agree Hobby search has great packaging and it is great to be able to reserve and get new items but unless it will be something really rare or I think will be sold out then I will probably try eBay or amazon first now.

I actually meant that Tokyo-Hobby has great shipping but Hobby Search does also. I didn't buy this train, I was only going by what the listing says now which is 1800yen or $15.96usd... http://www.1999.co.jp/eng/10429995 Wow, SAL was that much? I can say from experience that Tokyo-Hobby's listing mailings usually arrive to me in 10 days or less.

Yes but how do you know ahead of time?

Its like what I want, I have no idea what this Twilight Express is and apparently nobody else does either because I have not found any info on it searching for the last month. So because of this I wanted to jump on it just in case it was Limited. I am both excited that it will be the new Twilight Express but apprehensive because the listed price is so low plus the fact that the Pre-Order did not sell out. There also is confusion for me that they list it as "C" battery like the old version but then excited that it isn't just an updated chassis version of the old with new type motor and chassis. I wouldn't think it would be like a commemorative edition since the real Twilight Express retired and made its last run a year ago. Then on the other hand the New Twilight Express Mizukaze isn't scheduled to start service until June of this year so I would assume its not coinciding with that. Another thing on my mind is that a lot of Plarails trains released under the Loves Fun Train Series, are usually different and/or limited.....I check everyday in hopes of getting a glimpse but I still have no idea of whether it be Limited, rare, common or not but I just have to take the chance..

Have to admit I agree with Mr Ripley here, I gave up using Hobby Search, you don't really have an indication of shipping before you order and often I've ended up paying more for the shipping than I did for the items I was buying. Makes things way too expensive, I find buying from Amazon.co.jp through 'From Japan' is way cheaper - if you can find the items on Amazon that is, not so easy searching that in english lol!
Happily collecting things all my life... Big Grin

No, I am not praising any site as better or cheaper than the other, what I am professing is that where else can you find pre-orders for something that might or will be a limited release and once gone you don't have a chance for another unless you pay the inflated prices. I have not bought many trains from Hobby Search and would not buy any common ones from them for the exact reason both you and Ripley mentions. The only three (I think) I pre-ordered and I think the only things I have bought from Hobby Search turned out to be good deals because once they hit the other Online sites the price jumped. Those trains were:

The Gold Nikko Moude Spacia
C58 `SL Ginga` Set
Kyoto Railway Museum C58

Of those three the one I thought would be more of a Limited release, Kyoto Railway Museum C58, turned out to be the most common and still easy to attain to this day. The other two turned out to be good Pre-orders for me even with the higher cost of shipping. But this is what I mean about taking a gamble, at least in my case, that a train will only be available for a short time and will be snatched up quickly before being available at higher prices later. That is what I am gambling on and why it is a gamble for me on this new Twilight Express. Actually I have been doing this for so long, buying things from Japan, that I have become numb to shipping costs and don't even figure that into my choices anymore. I can't say that about me when I first started buying from there....woosh....that was sticker shock for sure. Confused

BTW: in this video The Izu Craille wrapping looks to be paint and not stickers. Does it look like that to you? And look at the tops of each unit, I didn't realize from the original pictures the paint was a metal flake and glittery. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cV7qms_3SQ8
