Diapet Thomas

I'm honestly surprised no one seems to have thought these are essentially going to be the ERTL range except updated, more complex and more detailed/accurately designed (and only available in Asia, like all good Thomas products that aren't H0/00 these days). The prototypes remind me of the Bachmann and Lionel ranges (especially James, who looks like the H0 one with some corrections). Hopefully these will be good quality, and that rolling stock and track will be available for them soon.

I’m probably gonna buy all of them but the 1 I want the most is Bertie so I can use him as just normal bus by giving him a grill and painted him a dark green

Further images now the product listings are on the Japanese Amazon. They're going all out with the crank action.

Thomas and James feature that internal drive motion.

Scaling is according to the CGI Series.

I know I'm very late to this party, but I've only just found a comparison from last month between Diapet's James to a Plarail one. As Super thought earlier, these models are much larger than Plarail/Trackmaster, H0/00 and ERTL.

Those knuckle couplings don't look like they would last very long, but I dare say the only way to know would be to wait for rolling stock to be introduced. Needless to say, these make the Plarail/TrackMaster versions (even the good ones) look cheaper than we all refuse to admit they are. I never understood why Nitrogen didn't keep James' proportions and scale at least roughly the same as his physical models.

I am sure we can somehow modify the coupling ourselves with the help of a 3d printer Wink.
Coming soon!

Annie/Clarabel in June, Gordon in July.
They're made of 'resin', not diecast metal - it says here:  https://ttte.wikia.com/wiki/Diapet
