Well this is something I can't really comment on as I only have the STL files as downloaded from the guys site, to change the design you really need the source CAD files so you can modify those to include things like the ridges.  Maybe Super can help comment on this as the bridges I printed for him don't have the ridges either, I don't know if he has them in use yet and can comment on how the engines perform on them.  I did try to add them, but they didn't print quite correctly and needed a further edit which I didn't have time for at that time.  However unless you are on a slope or the engine is pulling a large number of coaches/wagons I wouldn't have thought it would be impossible for them to work, the Tomy trains seem fine on the designers video Smile
