Latest purchase, Trackmaster Molly!

Probably the worst version of Molly lol. Her running board isn't painted.

I could've gotten a proper TOMY Molly for only a dollar or two extra. Oh well, live and learn.

(I think her motor might also need a rebuild? She is VERY loud and grindy. She sounds like a dang lawn mower! Also, rather slow.)

Hi WF72
Looks like you are building up quite a collection there.
The lawn motor noise is most likely the cog at the end of the motor.  It most likely has worn teeth.  I find this quite often on trains.  I believe Molly there has a 8 tooth cog with a 2mm shaft hole.

I buy my cogs for Ali Express or eBay.  Hope that information helps.

I didn't even know that Molly had a version without the white boiler plate.

I honestly think Trackmaster Molly (Fisher Price) is good for customs as there's not the added footplate detail unlike the Tomy, Hit, and Plarail versions.

Hi, So

I was able to open her up and replace that cog with a spare one but... i don't know, it seems like i might've messed up the motor. Now it only comes in bursts and can't make it up any raised track any more. genuinely upset I need to buy a whole new one, esp when I just got this one

HI, That is unlucky.  Changing the motor isn't to hard.  Again you can purchase them off of Ali Express or eBay, about a $1 each plus delivery.  Way cheaper than replacing your engine and a lot more satisfying when repaired.  Making it up raised track is normally because the tyres are too old and have lost there grip.  Replace the tyres on the Tender and see if that helps.

It isn't that easy, the motor is soldered to the battery tabs and I don't have a soldering iron. I might need to get her a whole new drive unit.

I would be curious to see a close up picture of the insides and maybe a short video of it running the way you say in order to help you troubleshoot the problem. Is this a Flat Drive?
