I love the new layout. Very expansive and scenic. :-). Simple but great mod.

It took me hours to decide on a theme and even more time on how to accessorize it. Big Grin

Doing the Chicken Dance while riding to the Chicken Ranch

I finally finished out the set of chicken cars (6) I have been working on. These are hard to get in good condition as either one or both of the side drop down panels seem to always be missing or the grey roof is all scratched up. I was going to change the name of the farm on the sides but that proved to be too much work. They look pretty good with those black couplings. Here they are on their way to the Chicken Ranch pulled by the new C-11 Steamer. There they will live happily ever after.

On a sad note, this brings an end to anything I need from Trackmaster in engines or rolling stock which, also puts an end to needing to constantly browse the US Ebay site. There is no longer a need for me for Ebay trains but I do still need just a few things from the Japan Auctions that has proven to be quite hard to find..

Hi Super, Love all the modsBTW. A couple of quick questions. For the bullet train with 2 head lights, I have the same train and have been thinking of doing that for a while. The plastic “lights” on the train are square and the light bulbs themselves are round. Did you cut round holes? Square holes?

Then for the Ben that you modified into “hard boiled” you mentioned the masking and airbrushing. Did you literally mask it off like one would when painting the wall in the house? I have tried painting some mods a la old school plastic models (Testors and brushes) and have been unhappy with the results so far.
Thanks!

If you are talking about the Skyliner then the answer is round. Removing the stickers and creating a dual light bracket on the inside. The lights are simply 1.5v Grain of Wheat/Rice bulbs.

With Ben I have learned over the years (from many mistakes) that masking and painting always depends on the tools you use. Painting by brush or rattle can spray paint along with regular masking tape always ends up in disappointment. Using the proper tape and a Liquid Masking for curves in addition to the tape works the best. Along with the proper masking using an Airbrush is critical in creating a sharp edge with no seepage of paint.

Coming Soon....The Menace
Hi Super, I am curious where you get your Smokebox replacement (when removing the face).  I have only been able to find brass ones that are expensive and I think plastic would work better.
Thanks
