Disney Branded PlaKids???

10 Replies, 2392 Views

I bought these Disney Branded PlaKid look alikes from Japan as I had never seen them before and thought that they may have been rare but upon receiving them I don't think they are PlsKids but would like to know more if anyone recognizes them or can research them. The three in the middle are the ones in question as the two on either sides are real PlaKids. the characters are woody Buzz and I am not sure about the girl...maybe someone from Frozen? As you can see the legs are a tad different where they meet and they seem to be a tad smaller. They are officially labeled with the Disney/Pixar logo.

Oh, wow, thank you oh master of the search, Dr Chris. because of your above images I searched for 'Dream Tomica Ride On' and find that there are many other Disney PlaKid like figures and they are made by Takara/Tomy Tomica. I must have more.

I've been wondering why this range and the Dream Railway never seemed to make anything based on the Animation Studios films. Rather, they only have Pixar, a tinge of Star Wars and Marvel and a few rivals like Illumination. Besides Mickey, Donald and co., Winnie the Pooh is the only IP I recall them using from that lineup.

Until I saw Chrisjo had explained it, you nearly had me for a moment.

Thats strange...I thought Little Bo-Peep was with Sheep...not a skunk or black and white Pig! 😁

shes based on the version from toy story 4. ive only seen that abomination once, so dont recall the exact use of the skunk, other than as a car of some type.

Received these additions to the PlaKid Collection of which there are hundreds. I must say I am impressed with the vehicles that came with these as they are made of cast metal and plastics which gives them a heavy feel. I like how the characters compare to the actual PlaKids. I love branded items like cars and trains and these fill in that category perfectly. These would look great in a Disneyland (World) type of Layout. I still would like to pick up a Snoopy and Winnie the Pooh sets.

I saw that stumpy Fat Controller just the day before yesterday, and wondered where he came from, so that was timely. Thanks!
