FFF's Plarail Customs - C38, Daisy

Just a question. Will the C38 ever be available on your Shapeways store?
Collecting without a clue since 2010
I could upload it if people want it, however it will likely end up costing twice as much as daisy because there are more parts that require printing. I do also want to continue development on it by adding more details in a similar fashion to the real prototypes Plarail produces.

Nigels here on BPT has looked into and I believe sourced some track from a printing bureau. I am not sure if that route would be any cheaper than ShapeWays or not?
I have been looking into alternatives to Shapeways though so far haven't found options that are much cheaper.
Not specifically Plarail but if people are interested, I could resize it to be.

I can think of more customs you can add to Shapeways:
Rebecca
Carlos of Mexico
Raul of Brazil
Ivan of Russia
Logan of UK
Henry's old shape
Shane of Australia
Vinnie of North America
Beau
Rajiv of India
Etienne of France (and his basis)

I had considered Henry's old shape a while ago due to how many customs there are of it. While it's true that I could create all the parts necessary for those engines and upload them to Shapeways, I most likely won't as Daisy has been a bit of an eye opener for me.

I initially took it on not only as a personal commission from somebody but also as there are numerous customs of Daisy which shows there is a want for it. Considering some of the engines on your suggestions list only appeared on screen for around two minutes (some not even daring to speak) I can't see there being a huge demand for them. I don't have as much free time as I used to due to a new job and so if I did decide to sit down and make more custom parts/characters, I would like to be sure more than just one or two people would be interested in said parts/characters.

I understand the price puts a lot of people off and I've explained my inability to change this due to Shapeways' pricing system. As a personal rule I don't share files anymore due to the doings of several people in the past, which unfortunately means no home-based prints either. Something else that has put people off is having to paint the parts themselves. It is my belief that if the shell for Daisy cost the same as a new trackmaster (Aren't they about $25?) that people would be less worried about 'ruining' it with a paint job.

If nothing else, it was worth a try. Maybe later on when 3D printing becomes even cheaper, 3D modelling becomes easier and home 3D printers can produce better quality prints with inexpensive materials (or a combination of all three), then perhaps I will once more delve into 3D printed Plarail customs. I wasn't the first to try it, after all, and I doubt I will be the last.

Aside from this, Trackmaster have already made Etienne and I believe they will make Rebecca in due time as well, given she appears to be a new main character.
